Scholarship List 2007-2008

1. The William C. Garcia Scholarship of $1000.00 will be awarded to a graduating senior from Shasta County who participated in high school tennis. Applications are available in counseling or contact Kerry Caranci at kerry@shastarcf.org Deadline for submission is April 10, 2008.
2. VESTRA is offering two $1,000 scholarships for students seeking careers in the fields of math, natural or physical science, and/or technology. Scholarships are based on academic performance, leadership potential and career interest. Students must posses a minimum GPA of 3.5 as a graduating senior. Applications are available in Counseling or at www.vestra.com and must be postmarked by April 15th.
3. The Northern California Veterinary Medical Association is providing scholarships ranging from $500-$2000 for a high school senior who may be interested in pursuing a career in the animal-science fields. Pick up an application in counseling. Application deadline is April 15, 2008
4. The Kelly Moravec Academic Encouragement Foundation is offering a $500.00 scholarship to students that have 3.0 GPA and have had to deal with serious medical adversity issues. Applications are available in Counseling. Applications must be received by April 18, 2008.
5. The Shasta County Cattlewomen will be awarding two $500 scholarships to students interested in studying in the agriculture field. Applications are available in Counseling. Applications must be received by April 18, 2008.
6. The Redding Legal Professionals Association is presenting the Jutta B. Spruce Scholarship to a student who plans a career in the “legal field.” This does not apply to students entering law school. . Applications are available in counseling or you can contact Kerry Caranci at 244-1219 or kerry@shastarcf.org . Deadline is April 18, 2008.
7. The Women in Medicine Scholarship in the amount of $3000.00 will be awarded to a graduating female senior who plans a career in Pediatrics, Family Medicine, Dentistry, Family Nurse Practitioner and Physicians Assistants. Applications are available in counseling.  Contact Kerry Caranci at 244-1219 or kerry@shastarcf.org. Deadline for submission is April 23, 2008.
8. The Big Sun Organization is offering a $500.00 scholarship to a high school senior involved in sports at school. Please visit www.bigsunathletics.com for an application. It is also listed with FastWeb. Deadline is June 20, 2008.
9. The AES Engineers are pleased to offer a $500. 00scholarship. Students must submit an essay of no more than 1000 words. For more information go to www.aesengineers.com/scholarships.php. Deadline is September 15, 2008.
